Overview:
We are looking for a passionate Technical Business Analyst with a combination of practical experience, business acumen and a solid technical foundation to join our team.
The Technical Business Analyst is responsible for establishing and maintaining effective interaction between various business and technical stakeholders to deliver solutions where the primary objective is to transform data into information, information into insights and insights into actionable business decisions.
These activities typically include facilitated requirements workshops to understand and unpack business processes and the systems that enable these processes. Process modelling, data mapping, solution design, clear and concise documentation, continuous performance monitoring and customer engagement with effective solution testing are key to ensuring quality project deliverables.
The role is organised by the Programme Manager and reports to the Head of IT, who works under the delegated authority of the Managing Director.
Duties:
- Developing and maintaining documentation related to the business analysis process, including scope documents, test plans, user manuals, and FAQs
- Communicating with users and stakeholders to gather information about their needs, goals, and challenges
- Researching to identify relevant trends in technology, products, or industries
- Analysing business processes to determine how they could be improved or automated through technology
- Developing prototypes to demonstrate proposed solutions to business problems
- Evaluating data security risks by creating risk assessment plans and testing procedures for data security
- Preparing documentation such as reports, presentations, and spreadsheets to communicate findings and recommendations to executives
- Working with IT specialists to design and develop new systems or improve existing systems based on business needs and goals
- Creating models to simulate complex scenarios so that businesses can predict the potential impact of changes in market conditions or customer behaviour on their performance
Role Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst
- Agile Project Management Framework which includes Agile toolsets, practices, ceremonies, and techniques
- Capture and document Features, User Stories, Tasks, Business Rules, and Wireframes in tools such as Jira and Azure DevOps
- Working knowledge of database design and analytics environments
- Preferably a Tertiary degree, diploma, or certificate in an Information Technology related field. E.g., BSc Computer Science, B.IT, B. Com Informatics, or related Engineering qualifications
- 5 – 7+ years’ working experience in roles such as a Business Analyst / Systems Analyst, BI Analyst
- Experience in the financial services, engineering, cosmetics and/or retail industry will be beneficial
- Required to travel (short distances when required)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable means of transport
