Duties:
System Integration and Process Optimization:
- Design, implement, and optimise mechatronic systems for the production and conversion into functional products
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical, electrical, and software components into seamless processes
- Hands-on installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of mechatronic systems
Control Systems Development:
- Develop and maintain control systems for manufacturing equipment, ensuring high precision and reliability
- Implement feedback control mechanisms to enhance process efficiency and product quality
- Solve real-time control system challenges through hands-on experimentation and adjustments
Automation and Motion Control:
- Design (and program if needed) manual, semi- and fully automated systems for material handling and process support
- Optimise motion control algorithms to achieve precise and repeatable movements in manufacturing processes
- Apply hands-on problem-solving skills to address issues related to automation performance and reliability
Sensors and Actuators Integration:
- Select, install, and calibrate sensors and actuators for real-time monitoring and control of manufacturing processes
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to sensors and actuators to maintain uninterrupted production
- Hands-on adjustment and calibration of sensors and actuators as needed
Collaborative Research and Development:
- Work closely with research and development teams to implement new technologies and improvements in the mechatronics field
- Contribute to the development of next-generation production technologies
- Provide hands-on expertise in prototyping and testing of new mechatronic solutions
Facilities Management Integration:
- Collaborate with facilities management to ensure optimal functionality of manufacturing equipment and systems
- Implement preventive maintenance schedules and conduct routine inspections to ensure facility readiness
- Coordinate with external service providers for specialised equipment maintenance and calibration
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain, manage and improve the equipment and facilities management systems
- Create detailed technical documentation for equipment/systems, including specifications, manuals, standard operating procedures and work instructions
- Provide progress reports to the management team, highlighting achievements, challenges, and proposed solutions
Technical Requirements:
- Degree, diploma, or certificates in one or more of the following: Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering
- Relevant experience in these fields for 2+ years
- Desirable Technical Skills:
- Solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, both high and low-voltage
- Proficiency in Beckhoff TwinCAT programming is highly advantageous
- Experience in manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of ISO standards
- Experience with Fusion 360 and AutoCAD
