Overview:
As a Group Finance Manager specializing in the agriculture/grain industry, you will be responsible for overseeing financial activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic financial guidance to optimize the company’s performance and profitability.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting – Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to provide accurate and timely financial information to management and stakeholders
- Budgeting and Forecasting – Develop annual budgets and financial forecasts based on market trends, production projections, and business goals.
- Cost Management – Analyze company costs and overheads and assist senior management in value driven decision making.
- Tax Planning and Compliance – Ensure compliance with tax regulations and optimize tax strategies to minimize the company’s tax liabilities
- Risk Management – Assess financial risks related to market fluctuations, commodity prices, currency exchange rates, and regulatory changes
- Financial Analysis – Conduct financial analysis to evaluate investment opportunities, assess the financial viability of projects, and support decision-making processes
- Internal Controls – Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets, ensure accuracy of financial records, and prevent fraud
- System and process development – Assist in developing and implementing business and financial processes and systems
- Financial Planning and strategy – Collaborate with senior management to develop long-term financial plans and strategic initiatives
- Audit Coordination – Coordinate external audits and ensure compliance with audit requirements. Address audit findings and implement corrective actions to enhance financial processes and controls
- Stakeholder Communication – Communicate financial results, forecasts, and strategic insights to stakeholders, including executives, board members, investors, and lenders
Qualification and Skills:
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with 1 -3 years post-article experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting standards
- Strong financial reporting skills and ability to report financial results to senior management and stakeholders
- Knowledge of agricultural economics, commodity markets, and industry-specific regulations
- Knowledge and sound background of commodity derivatives (agricultural commodity derivative market knowledge a plus point)
- Proficiency in financial modelling, budgeting software, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
- Proficiency in developing and implementing business and financial processes
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to management people to ultimately get the best out of their team
